Q. What can I use to seal the grout on my ceramic tile shower walls and is this something I can do myself?

A. Many brands of grout sealer are available for this purpose. Most sealers are easy to apply, but it is very important make sure the grout is thoroughly cleaned and dry first. Read our article, DIY Grout Cleaning Tips.

To purchase grout sealer, visit Stone Care Central. Follow label instructions and you should be able to successfully seal your grout lines. For more info on the different sealers available, read this article, Do I Need To Seal My Grout?

TIP: Most of the impregnators sold for sealing marble also work great as a grout sealer. These impregnators can be applied over the ceramic and should not effect the ceramic tile. Be sure to wipe off any excess sealer from the tile to avoid hazing.
