Hot plate left brownish / black mark and white ring on marble top.

Q. A plate from the microwave was placed on a polished brownish/black marble table top and left a whitish ring, its smooth to the touch...can it be repaired to remove the ring?

A. It is possible to repair... the question is whether you can do it yourself or not. Purchase an etch remover type of marble polish at Stone Care Central and follow the package directions. If this does not work then you will have to call a qualified stone restoration company who may have to hone it and repolish it.
