Q: I cleaned soap scum off a stone tile shower with vinegar and it made white marks and streaks all over the shower walls. I can remove the sealand with cleaner but the white marks are still there. How do I fix it? A: If your shower is marble or limestone the vinegar may have etched it. If this is the case you should try using the polishing compound at stonecarecentral. If the spots are light you will be able to remove them yourself. If they are too deep you may need a professional to polish them which you can find here at stoneandtilepros.com in our Find A PRO section DO NOT ever use any acidic products on your stone, this includes vinegar and a variety of common shower cleaners. I would recommend you download our care guide for proper care and maintenance of your natural stone. |
