Q. A plate from the microwave was placed on a polished brownish/black marble table top and left a whitish ring, its smooth to the touch...can it be repaired to remove the ring?
A. It is possible to repair... the question is whether you can do it yourself or not. I would first try using a polishing paste from www.stonecarecentral.com. I would recommend Stonecare PRO Signature Etch Remover and Marble Polish. If this does not work then you will have to call a qualified stone restoration company who may have to hone it and repolish it. To find a qualified contractor in your area, click on the Find a PRO tab at www.stoneandtilepros.com.
