Q. We installed a countertop with arctic blue granite material. We used genex dry pads to 3000 grit and buff pad level, used rouge and hard cloth pad to shine. The owner wants it shinier like surface. This material has some pearl or abalone type crystals in it. I was wondering if there was a polish or method to make it shinier. Looking at it on a angle it looks duller than straight on. One restorer $$ said it needed to be crystalized? A. First off, you cannot crystallize granite. There are two videos that will help you --- one on edge polishing which you can get at www.ntc-stone.com and one by Alpha Professional Tools, Kitchen Countertop Fabrication which you should be able to get at Stonecare Central (www.stonecarecentral.com).
With that said, try using a high quality black buff pad. pritz a tiny bit of water then go dry and continue going ry. Either video will give you a good demonstration of this.
If you would like a good contractor to do the job for you, you can find one in your area by visiting our Find a PRO section.

i think you have to use wet diamond pads to get the shine you need i think the best are the ones from euroasian blades they are silpler then others even a kid can use them an be proud of the work any way it is only granite and you no need to do but 400,800,1500,3000 good luck
