Q. I am interested in buying a house but don't like the ceramic tile in the foyer and kitchen. It is a light color and I would like it to be darker. Can tile be recolored or only the grout? Tearing it up and replacing is out of budget right now.
A. Unfortunately ceramic tile cannot be recolored.
FOYER A subordinate space between an entrance and the main interior to which it leads
GROUT A mixture of cement material and aggregate to which sufficient water is added to produce pouring consistency without segregation of the constituents
TILE A thin modular stone, generally less than ¾ inch thick
